Human Discovery

Background: Little girl is at human discovery science camp. They study about the skeletal system, brain, about mucus and cells, and everything there is to know about the human body. Little girl is excited. She reads books, and learns about red blood cells and white blood cells, about kidneys and the heart. Little girl wants to be a doctor some day.

Little Girl: Mom, do you want to make a human body?

Mom: OK, but not today. It's late. It's time for bed.

Little Girl: No, not today. It takes nine months.

Mom: Oh?

Little Girl: Yes, and we need to get 206 bones.

Mom: 206? I thought babies have 300 bones. And, they fuse, so adults end up with 206.

Little Girl: Yes, but we only need 206 bones according to the recipe. And, lots of blood. Where do we get blood?

Mom:  There's a recipe?

Little Girl: Yes, it's in my science journal. I have it all written down.
